Introducing one of our brilliant young fundraisers and a finalist in the prestigious Sussex Superstars talent competition: Grace Shearing.
Grace's musical journey began at the tender age of five, inspired by the enchanting performance of a young violinist and driven by her admiration for Nicola Benedetti. Now, at 17, Grace has not only achieved recognition as a Sussex Superstars finalist but has also played with esteemed orchestras such as the Worthing Philharmonic and the Bernardi Gifted and Talented String Orchestra.
Grace's dedication to her craft and her generosity shine through her fundraising efforts for Focus Foundation. She recently hosted her first solo recital at Lancing College, performing a captivating program including "Schindler’s List," Bériot’s "Scène de Ballet," and Vivaldi's "Four Seasons," along with her competition piece, "Czardas," as an encore. Grace chose to ask for donations at the event which raised £260, adding to the £953 she garnered from votes during the Sussex Superstars Final.

Grace commented: "Looking forward to the future, I intend to pursue a career in music and am currently exploring options such as the marine band service, in order to combine my loves for music, sports and travel, and also conservatoires, where i could continue to nurture and grow my skills."
