In the midst of the brisk November breeze that swept through Brighton, the DoubleTree by Hilton, Brighton Metropole Hotel was abuzz with excitement and anticipation on Thursday (30th). Serving as the venue for the Sussex Superstars 2023 semi-final, a captivating competition curated and organized by E3 Events, the evening illuminated the stage with the incredible talents of local performers.
From a pool of nine exceptionally gifted contestants, the stage was set for an evening of intense competition and surprising performances. Each participant brought forth their unique flair, competing for the coveted opportunity to secure a spot among the finalists who will grace the stage at our grand Winter Ball in February 2024.
As the night unfolded, the judges, including Jodi Michele choreographer and Creative Director, Jason Sutton, UK's best known comedy drag artist and Chris & Harry Goodman, Focus Foundation, deliberated and made their final decision, selecting four outstanding finalists. The suspenseful moment arrived, and the chosen four were revealed to be:
· Mollie Thompson, singer
· Asher Chetwode, singer
· Grace Shearing, violinist
· CC Dance, an acrobatic dance troupe featuring Olivia Patitson, Gracie-May Norbrun, Brooklyn Pullin, Lola Baquedano-Deighton
The audience was then given the power to decide the fifth and final contestant to advance to the grand finale by voting for their 'wild card.' In a thrilling turn of events, Arlo, a talented young singer, emerged as the wild card recipient.
