Angels Den is a new concept to Sussex. This big giveaway is to showcase the great work happening across the city, to help those people in need.
On the evening, ten incredible charities will take to the stage and be given an opportunity to present their project or plan to our Angels, who have the crucial task of allocating the £100,000 donation among the charities that impress them the most.

The Angels
Five visionary entrepreneurs/philanthropists will generously donate £10,000 each to support Sussex-based charities and our local community. This year, Focus Foundation is honoured to be matching their £50,000 to bring the total to £100,000 on the night. These donations will ensure that this impactful event continues to support organisations dedicated to improving lives in Sussex.
This year our 5 Angels’ are:
Rob Starr MBE – Rob is a local businessman, charity founder, and author of four crime novels. Recently recognised in the Kings honours for his services to young people and philanthropy.
Chris Goodman – An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chris co-founded Focus Group and more recently he co-founded Focus Foundation.
Sarah Wilingham – Sarah is one of Europe’s most prominent entrepreneurs, investors and consumer experts, working mainly in the hospitality and lifestyle sectors. She is also the owner of Brighton i360 and a previous Dragon in the den.
Mike Clare – Mike is a passionate serial entrepreneur, probably best known as the previous Chairman and CEO of Dreams Plc, which he founded in 1987. Mike set up his own charity, The Clare Foundation and created the first Angel’s Den in Buckinghamshire.
Nazila Blencowe – Nazila is a well known entrepreneur and Director with a demonstrated history of working in the real estate industry, across Sussex. Her passion to support local communities encouraged her to sign up as an Angel.
