Help Create Stronger Communities for Generations to Come
Choosing to leave a gift in your will is one of the most meaningful ways you can support the causes you care about.
A legacy gift enables Focus Foundation to continue connecting communities, empowering grassroots charities, and helping local organisations create lasting change long into the future.
Whether you choose to support our general mission or a cause that reflects your personal values, your generosity will leave a lasting mark on the communities you care about most.
If you’re considering leaving a gift to Focus Foundation, we’d be honoured to have a conversation with you. There’s absolutely no obligation, we’re simply here to answer your questions and help ensure your wishes are respected.

Why Leave a Gift to Focus Foundation?
Every legacy gift helps us plan for the future with confidence.
Unlike one-off donations, legacy gifts give charities the stability to invest in long-term projects, respond to changing community needs, and continue supporting future generations.
Your generosity allows us to continue investing in overlooked and underfunded grassroots charities, supporting projects that strengthen communities and improve lives for years to come.
Because Focus Group covers our operational costs, 100% of your gift goes directly towards supporting grassroots charities and community projects.
If you’d like your gift to support a particular cause or area of work, we’ll always do our best to honour your wishes.
Did You Know?
Every day, more than 100 people across the UK choose to leave a gift to charity in their Will, helping raise around £4.5 billion every year for good causes.
Legacy giving is also becoming increasingly important, with charitable gifts in Wills expected to grow to around £5 billion annually by 2029, helping charities continue supporting communities for generations to come.
How to Leave a Gift in Your Will
Speak to a solicitor
A solicitor can help you create or update your Will, ensuring your wishes are clearly documented and legally valid.
Include Focus Foundation
Your solicitor will include the appropriate details of your chosen gift and ensure your intentions are accurately reflected.
Let us know
While there’s absolutely no obligation, letting us know about your intentions allows us to thank you personally, understand your wishes, and plan for the future.
If you prefer your gift to remain confidential, we will always respect your privacy.
Keep your will up to date
As your circumstances change, it’s worth reviewing your Will from time to time to ensure it continues to reflect your wishes.
A Guide to Leaving a Gift in Your Will
There are several ways you can leave a gift to charity, depending on your personal circumstances and wishes. Your solicitor can help you decide which option is most appropriate for you.
Pecuniary bequest:
A Pecuniary bequest is a fixed sum of money left to Focus Foundation in your will. This option allows you to leave a specific amount, regardless of the overall value of your estate. Some people choose this if they have a set amount in mind that reflects the causes they wish to support.
Residuary bequest:
A Residuary Gift is a percentage or share of your estate after gifts to family and friends, debts, taxes, and administration costs have been settled. Many people choose this option because the value of your gift naturally adjusts with the value of your estate over time, helping protect its long-term impact.
Specific bequest:
A Specific bequest allows you to leave a particular asset, rather than money. This could include property, shares, jewellery, artwork, or other valuable possessions that you would like Focus Foundation to benefit from.
Contingent bequest:
A Contingent bequest only takes effect if certain circumstances are met. For example, you may choose to leave a gift to Focus Foundation if the primary beneficiary named in your Will is no longer able to inherit your estate. This option ensures your wishes can still be fulfilled while providing flexibility for changing circumstances.

The Benefits of Leaving a Legacy Gift
Leaving a gift in your Will is a meaningful way to ensure the values and causes that matter most to you continue making a difference for years to come.
Whether your legacy supports children and young people, mental health and wellbeing, or communities affected by poverty, homelessness and social inequality, your generosity will help grassroots charities continue delivering life-changing support long into the future.
